Pixelbook is being built for developers, but it cannot work without creators.
Pixel artists are the reason a platform like this deserves to exist. The goal is to make it easier for artists to publish useful assets, present them clearly, and reach developers who are actively looking for pixel art.
A good marketplace should help both sides.
Creators need better presentation
A lot of pixel artists already create excellent work, but presenting assets online can be awkward.
A single preview image does not always show what is included. A folder download does not explain the value of the pack. A social media post disappears quickly. A general marketplace can bury pixel art under unrelated categories.
Pixelbook is focused specifically on pixel art, which means creator profiles and asset pages can be designed around the needs of this format.
That includes things like:
- Clear previews
- Animation examples
- File type information
- Asset categories
- Pack contents
- Usage notes
- Creator profiles
- Related packs
The goal is to make good work easier to understand.
Developers want trust
When developers buy or download assets, they want to know what they are getting.
They want to trust the creator, the licence, the preview, and the structure of the files.
Creators benefit from that too.
The clearer an asset page is, the easier it is for a buyer to make a decision.
Profiles matter
A creator profile should be more than a name next to a download button.
It should help artists build a presence.
Over time, Pixelbook creator profiles could support:
- Featured asset packs
- Creator bios
- Portfolio links
- Social links
- Collections
- Follower interest
- Updates
- Commission interest
This gives artists a place to grow, not just upload.
Feedback should be useful
A marketplace can also help creators understand what developers need.
That might include requests for:
- More animations
- More directions
- More object states
- Different colour palettes
- Larger packs
- More UI assets
- More tilesets
- More genre-specific assets
Pixelbook is still early, but feedback will shape what comes next.
Register interest
Creator accounts are not fully open yet, but we are preparing the first wave.
If you create pixel art and want to sell or publish assets on Pixelbook, you can register your interest.
We are building this with creators in mind from the beginning.
